    • Keep it Simple

I’m enjoying using this app/widget to keep me on track with my Capstone for graduation next month. Using the Free version only grants you the options to edit your Date & Time, along with the color of the background. Once you pay a $1.00 for the pro version your options greatly expand! :) Becaause I’m preparing myself to pay back my student loans soon, I decided to keep it simple and stick with the free version. As I open up my desktop to work on my final project, this widget is a constant reminder to stay on track toward graduation.
    • Countdown Professional… but with less features :(

Countdown Timer Plus is Countdown Professional… with less features. Countdown Professional was incredible and I loved the cusomization with alarms, transparencies, etc. Features of Countdown Timer Plus:- Title- Time - Color of timer- Countdown UnitCountdown Professional featured the same elements PLUS:- Alert customization (sounds or speak text… which was awesome)- Keep window on top, hidden, or behind other windows (on top is best)- Opacity (translucent timer is beautiful over other windows)Not sure why the developer redid the app, yet removed all the best features from the original version. Luckily, I still have Countdown Professional on my iMac and I will continue to use it until Timer Plus includes the same features. I want to support the developer, however, it’s hard to justify spending the money on an app that is less appealing than it’s predecessor.
    • I like this app for the simplicity, and features

I have a hard time stepping away from my work sometimes, so this helps me stay on top of things. It can be color coded which is a huge plus for me because I can't always see the color font being used. I also like that it isn't flashing content every second. I am using the free version.
    • Stays on top of apps

I paid the 0.99 for the pro version. This could be a great app but there are problems that need to be addressed.1. When you create a timer it stays on TOP of all other apps. You can make it hidden behind windows. I like that it stays on top. But there needs a setting that hides behind windows. If, I’m working on a doc and I don’t want to see the timers I should be able to push them to the back. 2. You can’t add them to to your Dashboard as a widget. It would be great where I can just add it to my dashboard display as a widget. I can keep them on all one screen.

Whether you’re a professional or not, time is everything. It’s great that we now have timer apps that easily manage time. Recently, we had covered the best Apple Watch Timer Apps. Most of those apps offered a built-in tool for the timer. This time, however, we are focusing on timer apps for Mac in general. You will find options from categories like Task timer apps, Pomodoro Timer apps, Countdown timer apps etc. We have also included Reminder timers and some time-tracker timers for freelancers.

First, we will have a look at some task timers. These apps allow you to list out all your tasks and allocate time for everything. Simply run the timer to get things moving.

    1. Activity Timer

At any time, you can pause/stop the activities or start a new one. There is a good amount of customization such as the sound played when a timer is done or a custom message when the timer has finished.

Like most Mac Apps, Activity Timer has an iOS app as well. Activity Timer for Mac is a perfect choice if you love minimalism. It’s a simple app with both presets and custom-made timers.

Pomodoro is a time-management technique involving certain breaks at set times. Nevertheless, we wished there was a menu-bar icon for the app. You will have to open the app to know how much time you have left. Also, focus booster does not let you add multiple tasks at once. On the bright side, you can have the better workflow, thanks to multi-platform apps.

The app is free, but it does come with some limitation, for instance, advanced analytics are web-only, and the limited number of sessions (20) in the free version

Overall, focus booster is the best choice if you need a simple Pomodoro timer with analytics. It’s useful when you have multiple clients and want to track time.

    4. Pomotodo

However, when the timer is running, you can mark the tasks complete. Pomotodo has options like Analytics, Stats, Goals, and History. You can go to Preferences and customize the way this timer app works. In addition, Pomotodo also brings multi-device sync and a fully-fledged time management system.
